Appointment for Mother
(during morning or evening office hours)
Please come in for your postpartum checkup on_ _ _ _ _ _ .

When you arrive, give your patient card to the receptionist and tell them
you're here for your postpartum checkup. If there are no irregularities,
there won't be an internal exam so there's no need to make an appointment
by phone in advance. After this checkup, we'll make an appointment for
the one month postpartum check-up, which also includes nutritional ad-
vice. (Please make an appointment by phone for your second postpartum
checkup.)

Patients who haven't been vaccinated for German measles should plan to be
vaccinated at the one month postpartum check-up. This will make you
immune in case your child catches the measles and will be useful for your next
pregnancy as well. The vaccination won't affect breast
feeding or childrearing.

Please make your appointment at the reception.

Appointment for Baby
(during afternoon office hours Mon., Wed. or Fri.)
Please bring in your newborn for his/her first checkup on_ _ .

Please note that appointments for these checkups start from 1:30pm.
Please be sure to make an appointment for this checkup at the reception or
nurse's station when you leave the clinic after delivery.
Please arrive about 15 minutes before your appointment and give your
boshi techo to the receptionist.
Please finish breastfeeding at least one hour before the appointment, as if
the baby spits up it can make the checkup difficult.

Wed/Fri Dr, Hiroko Arakawa

Test for Baby's Discharge

On the day your baby leaves the clinic, we will check weight gain, jaundice,
and do a CRP test to make sure your baby is ready to go home.
With a pass for each item, we can send both mother and baby home with a
smile. We will give you a follow-up call 2-3 days after you leave the
clinic, so make a list of any questions you would like to ask.

Don't hesitate to call us with any questions you might have about you or
your baby's health. If you are concerned about breastfeeding or your breast
condition, please come in to the nurse's station.
